Privacy Policy

This page explains what scarletskipsgame.com (the “Site,” “we,” “us” or “our”) does with information about the people who visit it. We’re an independent, fan-built resource — guides, tips, background on Scarlet Skips, and a browser demo of the game you can try right here. We aren’t run by, affiliated with, or endorsed by the game’s developer or publisher. Using the Site means you’re okay with what’s described below; if you’re not, the simplest fix is not to use it.

What We Collect

We try to keep this short. There are really only two buckets:

• What you give us directly — if you reach out through the contact form or by email, we get your name, email address, and whatever else you write. That’s used only to read your message and reply.
• What gets collected automatically — loading a page can trigger our servers and the tools we use to log things like your IP address, browser and its version, your device and OS, which pages you visited, how long you stuck around, where you came from, and when you showed up. Cookies and related tech (more below) are behind most of this.

We’re not trying to collect sensitive information — things like ID numbers, bank details, or exact location — and we’d ask that you keep that kind of thing out of the contact form too.

Cookies and Related Tools

Cookies are small files a site leaves on your device. We and companies we work with use them, along with pixels and similar tools, to remember your preferences, keep the Site functioning, track visits, and serve ads. Your browser settings let you block or wipe cookies whenever you want — just know that doing so completely can make some parts of the Site act up.

Ads

Ads keep the lights on here. We partner with outside ad networks — Google AdSense among them — to show ads on our pages. These networks can set their own cookies and use them to pick ads based on where you’ve been, here and elsewhere online.

• Google and the companies it works with may rely on ad cookies tied to your browsing. Google spells out how it handles this on its partner-sites page.
• Want less personalized ads? Adjust that through Google’s Ad Settings.
• A broader opt-out for interest-based ads across many companies is available at aboutads.info/choices and via the Network Advertising Initiative.
• None of this makes ads disappear — it just makes the ones you see less targeted.

Analytics

Tools like Google Analytics may help us understand which guides get read, how people land on the Site, and how it holds up across devices. What we get back is aggregated — useful for deciding what to write next, not for picking out any one visitor. Prefer to opt out of Google Analytics specifically? Google has a browser extension for that at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

The Browser Demo

We host a browser-playable demo of Scarlet Skips, sourced from somewhere publicly available online and left as-is, code untouched. Playing it doesn’t require handing over any personal details. It might save settings or progress locally in your browser — local storage, for instance — and could pull files from servers we run or ones belonging to other companies, which can pick up technical bits like your IP and device type. Wiping your browser’s site data clears out anything the demo stored on your end. Where a third party serves part of the demo, their privacy rules govern what they collect.

What We Do With It

• Keeping the Site running and improving it over time.
• Getting back to you when you message us.
• Watching for errors, abuse, spam, or anything else that needs fixing.
• Figuring out what content and formats actually land with readers.
• Serving and measuring ads.
• Staying on the right side of the law and our own Terms of Service.

Who Sees It

We’re not in the business of selling your personal information. Sharing happens only in a few specific cases:

• Vendors we use — hosting, analytics, email providers. They’re limited to using the data for the service they’re providing us.
• Ad partners — they get cookie and device-level data to run and measure ads, as covered above. Some state laws treat this kind of arrangement as a “sale” or “sharing” for targeted-ad purposes — you can opt out with the tools already listed here.
• Legal situations — a subpoena, court order, or similar requirement, or when we think it’s necessary to protect our rights, our readers, or the public.
• If the Site changes hands — through a sale, merger, or similar deal, information could transfer to whoever takes over, and we’d expect them to stick to this policy.

How Long It Sticks Around

Messages you send get kept only as long as we need for a reply and a reasonable record, then deleted. Analytics and ad data stay as long as the companies collecting it decide. Server logs hang around briefly for security and debugging purposes.

• Your browser — controls which cookies stick and lets you wipe them anytime.
• Opting out of ads/analytics — the links further up cover this.

Do Not Track. Some browsers let you send a “Do Not Track” signal. There’s no agreed-upon way sites are supposed to respond to it, so right now we don’t change anything based on it. The cookie and ad opt-outs above are a more dependable way to cut down on tracking.

Rights for U.S. Residents

Depending on your state, privacy law may grant you some or all of the rights below. California’s CCPA (updated by the CPRA) is the most widely known, and more states keep adding similar protections.

• Knowing what personal information we collect, use, and share about you.
• Getting a copy of that information.
• Asking us to fix inaccurate data or delete what we’ve got.
• Opting out of having your information “sold” or “shared,” and out of targeted ads.
• Not being penalized for using any of these rights.

To act on any of this, message us via the Contact page and specify what you’re asking for. We may need to verify it’s really you before proceeding, and if someone’s acting as your authorized agent, we might ask them to prove that. We’ll respond within whatever window your state’s law sets. Since we don’t collect much identifying data in the first place, we can typically only match your request to the email you used or details you supply.

Kids’ Privacy

This Site is built for a general audience, not specifically for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly gather personal information from anyone that young — if we find out we did, we’ll delete it. If you’re a parent or guardian and think your child sent us information, let us know through the Contact page. Worth noting: Scarlet Skips carries its own content advisory on its store listing, some of our pages talk about the game in detail, and the demo is playable right on the Site. Younger visitors should check the game’s age guidance and have a parent or guardian involved.

Keeping Things Secure

We take reasonable precautions with the data we handle, but no site or internet connection is airtight, so we can’t guarantee complete security. Please don’t include sensitive personal details in anything you send us.

Outside Links and Embedded Content

We link out to other sites — the game’s store page, video platforms, other fan resources — and sometimes embed content from elsewhere. Those sites run their own privacy practices, which we don’t control. Worth checking their policies before you dig in.

Our Work and Other People’s Trademarks

Scarlet Skips, its demo, its characters, artwork, and names all belong to their respective owners. We feature them here so people can try and talk about the game — we’re not claiming any of it as ours. The guides, tables, and articles we write, though, are original, and reusing them elsewhere needs our written okay.
